Travel Thursday: Venice

It has been a long time since I’ve posted a Travel Thursday image. I decided, with my younger brother and cousin currently running amok in the UK at the moment, it was time to get back into it. So today, I went through a heap of old images from our time tripping around the UK and Europe, and flagged a selection to post over the coming weeks.

This image was taken one afternoon in Venice as the Sun set over the mainland. Venice is such a beautiful city full of old, faded, water-coloured buildings and canals covered in a zig-zag of bridges. Jas and I loved exploring the city, partly because we didn’t have to worry about public transport, and partly because even with a map, neither of us had any idea where we were going, or how to get there. Every few turns we would find ourselves at a dead-end or at the edge of a walkway leading directly to the canals. We fell in love with Venice as soon as we left the train station, and left a small part of our heart there when we left.

Taken with a Nikon D40 and Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 lens.
